A downloadable game for Windows

Update 08/31/2021 - v0.1.5.1 release.

CURRENT RELEASE NOTES:  I fixed a couple more bugs, so the latest version is as of Aug 31st, 8:25pm. New bug: I made the key 'S' end the war battle immediately while testing something so Scenario 3 might not be completable anymore, but it's old stuff so whatever. It'll be fixed on next release.

Will put up a Mac version on request.

I would like to note, that since I'm just implementing ideas I get off the top of my head and don't have a coherent game design document, if anybody who played Suikoden II, Breath of Fire III/IV, SaGa Frontier, or Ogre Battle want to weigh in, please do.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Download and run Shards of Suravani v0.1.5  application.

For playtesters: 'F' key will immediately win the (war) scenario. 'U' key will make it player turn no matter what. 'Z' key will skip the current dialogue conversation.

You can view my active checklists and backlog here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Pa9TzGWNB93s4XRJsZfg1Yvuj0ssolbfm4nGvN6O-IM/...

(Note: All music will be replaced with licensed/free music when game is finalized)

MISSION STATEMENT: To learn Unity and make a fun game in the process.  If you play this game, please leave some feedback, I am very open to implementing features as I have an evolving game design. The idea is to make a turn-based RPG with a tactics war mini-game.

It may lead into a more typical RPG as a future game.

How did you make the isometric sprites for the battle? I mean, the diagonal battle sprites like breath of fire

They were commissioned. None of the art is mine. Most of it by finalbossblues.

I'm glad you picked up on the inspiration. I believe Breath of Fire had a really aesthetically pleasing battle format. And I liked how in Suikoden your party members would actually go up to the enemy and hit them with their melee attacks.

This looks very exciting! It's been so long since we've had a Ogre Battles game. I hope this can capture the charm!

This is very exciting!
